Zivar Amrami زيور is an Iranian-American artist whose path is a testament to the transformative power of healing through storytelling, ritual, and the spirit of grace. Born to a Persian father and Norwegian mother and raised in a tight-knit Chassidic community in Minnesota, Zivar's work endeavors to transcend perceived boundaries by evoking vulnerability and care, and by weaving together shared narratives and compassionate presence.

Utilizing portrait, performance, video and the written word, Zivar explores themes of identity, location, belonging, and the gestures that unite us. Central to Zivar's artistic vision is beauty as a transformative force and ritual as a means of communion. Viewers are often invited to participate in unfolding stories, weaving together past and present, personal and collective memories.

Zivar’s dedication to women's empowerment and ancestral healing is at the heart of her many endeavors. Her art and studies in theology and trauma act as a catalyst for dialogue and solidarity, creating spaces where individuals can courageously gather, share their stories, and find communion in each other's presence. It is Zivar’s greatest hope that her work return us to the truth that we belong to each other.
